Corporate girls love to look good too, and there’s nothing as awesome as a corporate girl who looks like she is ready to work the runway as perfectly as she works the keyboard. However sometimes we may find ourselves in a creativity rut when our formal clothes present a challenge in styling. The secret is to bring some character to your work appropriate outfit, so that it communicates your confidence and productivity as well as sense of style. That’s how you achieve the ultimate corporate chic look. And it’s actually not as difficult. Just have an open mind.
For instance, recently I wore this outfit to work and what really got me thinking it’s blog worthy is how I ransacked my closet at those ungodly rush hours looking for something not too casual and not too crisp and formal to pair with my cigarette pants for a Thursday morning meeting. Then I had one of those aha moments. My navy-blue, obviously very casual Celine T-shirt happens to be the very same shade as the pants in question, and if worn backwards (thus hiding the Celine logo) it totally passes as so formal you can never guess that it’s not. Of course since I wore a jacket over it. And once the meeting was over, I realized that the top did actually acquire some edgy chicness when worn backwards haha who knew!… So I guess this is gonna be a thing now. Don’t judge me. Just a little bit of character is all we’re asking for, right? Come on, you would totally not forgive me if I didn’t share with you such an amusing secret, would you? I must confess, I do have some rather strange and unconventional fashion hacks. Like wearing my shirt backwards on purpose (if the style allows of course). Or wearing two tops, or a shirt over a dress, and the list is endless. Funny thing is they totally work. Wonder if you guys have such crazy style hacks; if not you should try some of mine 🙂
