So you finally got that hot first date you’ve been wishing for, or probably it’s not even a first date but your regular date nights with your beau and you have completely no idea what to wear. It happens to all of us right? And not for lack of clothes, our closets are mostly overflowing with pieces collected over time that we have no idea how to put together as an outfit. The key to scoring points with your date night outfit is to keep in mind three things. Simplicity, elegance and some hint of sexy. For instance, this red pencil dress I wore recently (which I find pretty romantic) and paired with black caged heels with golden accents from Asos. The neck-piece added some character to the dress. The gold envelope clutch just felt like the perfect piece to complete the outfit. Now when I wore this outfit it was pretty warm so I didn’t need a jacket. But if I did it would be my favorite black leather jacket. You can get a similar dress here
Besides a romantic dress, other options for a date night outfit can be the classic LBD but spruced up with pretty shoes and accessories like this. Also you can go for monochrome separates in a neutral shade like what J-Lo did here, (she looks absolutely stunning by the way) or in black but add some character with your fabrics choice like the leather pants here. Another interesting date night outfit is a fancy top, probably sequin or lace with dark colored jeans. I couldn’t find anyone online with the perfect combo of what I had in mind so I put them together for you below 🙂 Maybe I’ll wear them next time so you see how the whole ensemble looks as an outfit.
A sequin skirt or shorts if paired well has an element of romance and sweetness, albeit a little edgy. The best way to ensure its elegant is to pair it is with a long sheer black top, a black tailored blazer or sweater so the outfit doesn’t come off as busy. Check this out. Remember, simplicity, but chic and sexy at the same time is what you are going for with a date night outfit. So know how to strike that balance. Remember our clothes say a lot about us so look like a reflection of the beauty you already are, both in and out. That’s elegance. I hope you will have fun using these tips to put together something great and have a night to remember.
Thanks for reading. Stay elegant. XX
PS. I rarely do photo-shoots. Most times I just happen to have willing ‘photographers’ (read my loved ones) who take pictures on request, and only when I put together an outfit that I would like to share with you guys. So please excuse picture quality, lighting etc on these shots. I was actually on my way out when these were taken 🙂
