FLORAL TULIP DRESS
So of late, I have been going through a phase that happens sometimes, where I get the urge to experiment with fashion. This is basically where I try out new styles that I have had reservations on before or always wear with caution. For instance, the shift dress I wore in my last post, and for today, this pretty floral tulip dress.
I wore this dress to an afternoon tea party a while back and I promised to share more pictures and details of my outfit so that’s what today’s post is about. It took me a while to find the perfect dress for this occasion. It helped that I knew exactly what I was looking for, so there was no convincing me to settle for less. The thing that struck me the most about this dress is how the style is way out of my comfort zone. With my kind of body type, I always shy away from anything that’s too busy around the hips because I feel like it attracts too much attention to that area. But I decided to give it a try.
The cool pastel-like floral print, perfect for afternoon tea, caught my eye at first. But the thing I loved the most when I tried it on was the fit around the waist. And having a dress that’s got some structural detail for a change was the bonus. Having worn Closet London before I was not skeptical at all of the quality; the fabric is really good so it was an easy decision.I paired this with neutral accessories because I felt that the dress on its own, has all the character an outfit needs. It seems to perfectly fit into my go to daytime dress choices so I will be wearing this quite often I suppose.
Hope you are having a great week. Thanks for reading and stay elegant!
Xoxo,
Dottie.
