Holiday Wear Sparkle

holiday sparkleDecember is already here and with it the holidays in full swing! So obviously it’s time to sport some sparkle in our holiday wear. This dress sends me into a major holiday mood so I’m glad to finally get to feature it here today. I had some lofty goals for the blog this season; namely to do more posts to compensate for my three-month silence, (thanks to the morning, or is it all day sickness that hit me pretty hard at the beginning). Unfortunately, I’ve been experiencing all sorts of mental blocks lately where I just can’t bring myself to sit and put my thoughts together to write a piece! Anyone else felt like that when expecting? Or is this a creative’s version of pregnancy brain? Which is funny because I had to do some pretty tough exams in college during my first pregnancy and I didn’t feel this way! Well, maybe it’s the old age setting in haha.

Nevertheless, dressing the bump this holiday season is a feat I was already psyched to take on and that at least has been some source of inspiration when thinking about styling ideas. So I will try to share as many outfits and ideas as I can handle; maybe someone out here will get some inspiration for now or the future and that’s the whole point of this thing, right? Being financially conscious as always, I didn’t want to fill my wardrobe with pieces I wouldn’t use post pregnancy. So I have been gravitating more towards everyday looks that are both stylish and comfy. With comfort in mind empire waistlines, fashionable tops with low waist pants and blazers for the office have been my go to pieces.holiday wear sparkle

However, stretchy fabrics have by far topped my shopping agenda. I’m finding snug comfortable dresses with soft fabrics the easiest to dress up without looking all billowy (this is why I dislike most maternity dresses). I think with maternity wear, especially for everyday-clothes, the simpler the better. It’s also awesome that most of the clothes already in my closet, the dresses especially, have so much stretch that even at this stage I can wear them comfortably. For instance, this sparkly cotton and polyester dress is one of those super comfortable yet chic pieces I’m so glad I can still fit in. Also, with all the sparkle on its fabric, what better dress to take out for a spin to welcome the holidays? If I have to attend any cocktail party this season this will be a good choice of dress. What are your fave pieces for the holiday season?

Thanks for passing by and stay elegant!
